TIMCup: Parma 0-2 Roma ‘Pelle-goal”

Mission accomplished. Roma reach the quarter finals where we meet Juve in Turin next week.

Pellegrini with the double, and good news from Cristante, Cengiz, Justin, and mighty Bruno Peres with a new look but old habits. All smiling. Even Kalinic had a decent game.

Fonseca put Cristante within the three backline in front of Smalling and Mancini, acting as shield, with excellent results. Experiment or not, it is another possibility. Pellegrini looked like a confident leader, sealing the two goals, one from the penalty spot.

Parma battled in the first half, but Roma looked superior in the long run. So, a deserved victory, with a clean sheet. With this new formation it looks more solid at the back, and Cristante can be the man help defending but also moving the ball upfront.

While we wait for the Politano deal to be resolved, Roma must look for a substitute for Spinazzola, Zaniolo is out long term, Mkhytarian also injured, Justin is back and Cengiz is ready to play, hopefully back to his levels. Next Genoa at the Marassi stadium, then Juve, then Lazio. Crucial days ahead. Daje Roma.
