Roma-Juventus 0-0 “Happy Champions”

Juventus celebrated their 7th league title in a row in the Stadio Olimpico last night. Another monologue from the Bianconeri, something that Roma must try to challenge next season.

The match did not have the usual appeal.  Not much to play for, apart from the fierce rivalry that divides the two sides.  Roma were already sure to participate to the Champions League next season, thanks to Inter’s latest stumble against Sassuolo. Luciano Spalletti’s men clash against Lazio next week will decide to joins Juve, Napoli and Roma in the top European competition next season.

Apart from the first half, it was a sleepy match.  Roma started bright and should have taken the advantage in a couple of occasions, but did not capitalise.  Then, Nainggolan sees a red card for a second stupid foul, Roma unable to create any furter problems and Juve happy to slow down to secure the point enough to win another Scudetto.

It was a special day here at the Roma Club in Ireland. A great day together in the name of  Sean Cox. We watched together the Liverpool and the Roma match, handed over a cheque of EUR500, a dedicated “Forza Sean” t-shirt and our club scarf to go to Sean’s family.

A big thank you to the Liverpool fans, and to our club members, for helping setup the bank account and collect the money in such short time. Our thoughts and prayers remain with Sean.  Hope he gets better and comes back home soon. A reminder that in football there is no room for idiots.
