That was not the plan. After Sassuolo we heard the usual reaction from coach and players. To work hard and bounce back. Well, it was another disaster.
Mancini is the shadow of the player we admired until recently. He was fooled agaib the same way, a simple move to put him out of action, Boga last week, Barrow this time. Awful defending.
But it’s the same team that put Lazio under pressure two weeks ago. What happened? No words to describe the disappointment. Bologna were simply superior. As for Sassuolo, embarassing football. While we are busy analysing this and that,Lazio are back to winning ways and are battling to win the league!
Roma arw now trailing behind Atalanta, who are a true force at the moment. 4th place is seriously at risk. The clash this weekend will be a sentence. Roma must win in Bergamo. Can we do it? Of course we can. Just play the same way we did against Lazio.
Roma are capable but we haven’t got that thirst and hunger for some strange reasons. Fonseca must show he’s capable to turn this around, or we are back to the last Rudi Garcia or Eusebio. The wolf lose the skin but not the habit! Forza Roma. Always.

I giallorossi sono quarti in classifica con 39 punti a pari merito con l’Atalanta, mentre i rossoblù occupano l’undicesima posizione a quota 30. ROMA – I capitolini arrivano alla gara con il Bologna dopo la sconfitta per 4-2 contro il Sassuolo. Mister Fonseca deve rinunciare allo squalificato Pellegrini e per sostituirlo si affida a Perotti, favorito su Mkhitaryan. In difesa torna dal 1′ Kolarov a sinistra con Spinazzola a destra. If it wasn’t for our keeper we would be probably be here talking about another lost opportunity. It’s not for the first time. Roma keeps losing concentration against lower level teams. It’s been going on for the whole season. We had already lost the first leg away, to see the replay of that game was not an option.
Yet again, it took a similar direction until Roma found the way to win the match, and mostly thanks to our keeper Robin Olsen who saved us from another catastrophe. If there is one team to have regrets today, this is Bologna.
A very bad first half, Bologna literally attacking all over the place, Roma unable to react and impose its own game play. Defense in tatters, incredible mistakes at the back, especially by Fazio, who then redeemed himself by scoring the second goal. Olsen did not enjoy himself.
The real change in second half was made by the 35-years old substitute Daniele De Rossi. His presence was immediately felt and the team changed gear and attitude. Kolarov’s penalty and Fazio’s goal later was the game changer, although Bologna came back later, never doomed. But it was too late.
In the end, we don’t take the performance but yes we do take the three points to carry on the chase on Milan, hoping there would be no more displays like this. Le’ts move on. Frosinone next, then the Derby and Porto. Crucial days ahead. Daje Roma!

Torino, Crotone, Bologna: Roma at a minimum with one nil rule. Not so impressive but solid at the back, with only five goals conceded in all season, the best defense in Serie A. History says the best defense will always grab the Scudetto in the end. Is this going to be the case again this year? Regardless, Roma needs to keep going like this, clean sheets, and hopefully score more goals and continue to win games. The leading pack continue relentlessly on the same note. The top six teams have formed one separate league. Winning against these will be crucial and unfortunately Roma have so far lost two, against Inter and Napoli.
Last night Roma did just enough, once again, but hardly ever felt under pressure by a static Bologna side with Federico Di Francesco upfront, ironically the son of Roma coach Eusebio. It was another revolutioned team selection with Kolarov and Nainggolan rested for the upcoming match against Chelsea. The rotation is working fine, different players each game, same end product. This time it was Stephan El Sharaawy our saviour with a cracking goal! Goal dedicated to Rick Karsdorp who will be out for another 6 months. Teams like Napoli cannot afford this type of rotation, they have barely 11 players to rely on. So, in the long-term this team tactic might pay off.
Next three weeks are crucial: Chelsea, Fiorentina, Lazio, Atletico Madrid. Serie A and Champions League at stake. Let’s take one by one. Chelsea will be much tougher than what we saw at Stamford Bridge. If we play again at that level anything is possible. Most importantly, cannot afford to lose players anymore to injury but to get back to fitness the likes of Patrik Schick. If he can match our expectations he can be our secret lethal weapon. 0 Nel segno di Mario Rui. Primavera, Roma-Bologna 4-1: Soleri apre, Keba e doppio Frattesi completano la festa

Doveva essere una passerella, e passerella è stata. La Roma Primavera ha battuto con un sonoro 4-1 i pari età del Bologna, loro malgrado vittime dell’ondata di entusiasmo per il ritorno in campo di Mario Rui, fermo ai box dal ritiro estivo e finalmente pronto a ricominciare (anzi, a cominciare) la sua stagione in prima squadra.
Il terzino sinistro ha giocato poco più di un’ora, uscendo al 62′ tra gli applausi di tutto il “Tre Fontane”. Partono bene i giallorossi: al 25′ Soleri si fa perdonare per un errore sotto porta e, approfittando di una distrazione della difesa ospite, si trova a tu per tu con Ravaglia e lo trafigge.
Sotto gli occhi del dg Baldissoni e del ds Massara, i ragazzi di mister De Rossi attaccano ancora e a cinque minuti dalla fine del primo tempo trovano il raddoppio con Keba, che una volta ricevuto palla insacca ancora una volta il portiere felsineo con un destro preciso da fuori area.
Da segnalare, al 34′, un’ottima chiusura di Mario Rui, che salva la retroguardia giallorossa in scivolata. Nella ripresa la Roma trova il terzo goal grazie a Frattesi, che appoggia facile facile in rete sfruttando al meglio il comodo assist di Keba. Ancora Frattesi e nel finale Pattarello per gli ospiti fissano il punteggio sul 4-1.

Three goals by Mohamed Salah for a smooth 3-0 win over Bologna. Luciano Spalletti’s side back to four points behind league leaders Juventus.
It was a great performance by the winger and a solid display by the team. De Rossi was absolutely gigantic in midfield, Nainnggolan coming back to his standards, Dzeko worked hard often behind the wingers, offering marvellous passes to his teammates. Perotti was a thorn in the side of the Bologna defense creating constant threats. In defense Rudiger and Fazio did well with a confident Scznesny as guardian angel. On the bad note was Kevin Strootman. He made many mistakes, he’s not at his best and you can see that, hopefully is a mental state rather than physical. The day the “washing machine” will be back to recycle then Roma will have a formidable setup in the middle of the park.

So, another emphatic home win for the Giallorossi. We were particularly impressed with the growing confidence, after a brilliant start the first half went into stalemate for a while, as if Roma were testing Bologna in a boxing match, lets’ wait and see what you can do. Then, when the time came a series of sucker punches followed, rattling the face of a Bologna side unable to cope with the tsunami style attacking force. Salah could have scored a fourth goal, had one good disallowed, Dzeko tried to get on the score sheet, went close but he just could not this time. We are sure he will soon do it again.
Now it’s International duty break, many of our players will be rested. Chance to do a reckoning of the injury list. We’ll be back with a delicate match against on-form Atalanta, 6 win in the last 7 matches. Roma need to go the Azzurri D’Italia Stadium in Bergamo and show who’s the boss here! Daje. Forza Roma!
