Shakhtar-Roma 2-1 “Two faced”

First half. Second half. Two different teams. Roma started bright and created some clear chances, but Dzeko failed to convert. Not so clinical the bosnian. Instead, he looked better playing behind the strikers than as centrefoward, some great passes, eventually serving a great one for Cengiz Under to put Roma in the lead. Another turkish Shakhtar-Roma 2-1 “Two faced”

Verona-Roma 0-1 “Survivors”

Three points, at last. The Verona game was crucial for keeping up the chase for Champions League football next season. But also to regain some confidence. Roma started well, with Cengiz Under scoring a great goal with less than a minute gone, but then the usual pitfalls, unable to convert so many chances to bury Verona-Roma 0-1 “Survivors”

Sampdoria-Roma 1-1 “VAR-Sato”

Dzeko snatches the equalizer in injury time to save Roma from another disaster, but how many chances wasted and what kind of referee to deny once again justice, for a Roma team revived at last. It was grotesque to see referee Orsato somehow reverting his linesman decision to punish a foul on Strootman, then the Sampdoria Sampdoria-Roma 1-1 “VAR-Sato”

Inter-Roma 1-1 “Total Equal”

Reflections and indigestions:  Victory vanished with only 5 min from the end, 3 points gone, players with cramps, ended up defending with backline of 5 ; Peres just irritating and a super Alisson. This sums up Roma’s latest disappointment. Better than Inter in the first half, good runs and pressing, but without creating much, until Inter-Roma 1-1 “Total Equal”

Roma-Atalanta 1-2 “Collapse”

Defeat. Worse. How to waste any scudetto hopes in between December and January every year.  Hard to swallow. If drawing against Genoa, Chievo, Sassuolo was not enough, here’s Atalanta coming to take 3 points away on our soil. Roma were in the clouds especially in defense in the first half; in second half Atalanta went Roma-Atalanta 1-2 “Collapse”

Roma-Sassuolo 1-1 “Mood breaker”

Here we are, it’s the end of 2017.  Disappointing results between Christmas and New Years Eve, once again against Sassuolo the team showed lack of some mental fitness and physical strength; VAR and two goals disallowed, lots of debatable issues, with Dzeko and Schick at the very centre of the debate. Roma were just incapable Roma-Sassuolo 1-1 “Mood breaker”
